The San Juan College School of business and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program will provide free income tax preparation to the community Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, through April 13th. Workout using your own body weight or light hand weights to work all the body parts! The free classes are always similar in style but always different moves to keep it fun and fresh. You’ll need a yoga mat & light hand weights. If you don’t have them, they are extras that can be used. Each class is around 35 min. long. Modifications are always available. It’s always a fun, upbeat, encouraging, and a great workout. Taught by Tammy Williams, certified fitness instructor. All ages and fitness levels are welcome! The CARE Program is a FREE income-qualified energy efficiency program for homeowners and renters in Archuleta and La Plata Counties. Participants receive a free energy audit for their home and free efficiency upgrades such as insulation, air sealing measures and efficient lighting. The Durango Arts Center presents the exhibit Leonard Davies: The Joys of Painting as a Pastime January 9 - February 28, 2026 in the Barbara Conrad Gallery. Davies retired from a distinguished career as a civil rights attorney, and began oil painting at the age of 70. His show features southwest landscapes, and is free to the public Tuesday - Saturday, Noon - 6 pm. An opening reception will take place from 5-7 pm, Friday, January 9.
The Durango Arts Repertory Theater is seeking original submissions for the 16th Annual 10-Minute Play Festival. This year’s theme is, “The State We Are In,” celebrating major anniversaries for Colorado and the United States. Submission deadline is Sunday, March 1st or at 200 entries.Details are at durangoarts.org.
